I had a dream a few weeks ago that left a lasting impression on me. In the dream, I was wandering through a beautiful rural area of Japan and encountered a creature that had both monkey and human characteristics and long, straight golden locks. The most unusual thing about the creature was that it had two monkey heads growing out of its head above each ear, and each head seemed to communicate as if it were a separate entity. In the dream, this seemed perfectly normal.
The creature communicated telepathically and introduced itself as SHINTŌ, a non-binary entity that warned me of a great sadness coming to the planet due to the spread of dangerous lies and the rise of unworthy leaders who use these lies to strengthen their power while pretending to be good and godly messengers.
When I woke up, I looked up SHINTŌ to see if this creature actually existed, but I couldn't find any information about it. However, I did learn that Japan's Indigenous folk religion is called SHINTŌ and, coincidentally, the ancient Japanese proverb "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" was popularized in the 17th century as a Shinto maxim and represented by three monkeys. In Western cultures, this saying is often associated with pretending to be unaware of wrongdoing or choosing to ignore it, and it can imply a lack of character.
